Produced in 2012, this program gives a voice to the children of impoverished families.  Children are often the hapless victims of poverty, having to manage with the life that their parents or guardians provide for them.  This documentary makes clear the desires for a better life are strong even in the bleakest situations.  While food insecurity and housing insecurity dominate the daily lives of the featured families, the concern that education is their only way out of the cycle of poverty looms large with the children.

FRONTLINE explores what poverty means to children and to the country’s future.
