  1. I live about 4 hours from Joplin and I remember this tornado. It was absolutely devastating. So many lost their lives. Even more lost their homes (adults and entire families). Jade’s story is sad and inspiring at the same time. I can’t imagine paying rent when I was supposed to have been enjoying high school. It’s hard to shake that depression and “What’s the point” mentality, but Jade’s dreams and plans for her future are so amazing. I’d love to see her achieve them.

    1. I agree Alli! One great benefit of 21st century technology is our access to stories like these. We discover we are not so alone in our struggles, and the world ends up seeming a much smaller place.
